NICOLA WALSH
15 years - Senior Branch Administrator
What did you do before joining the group?
Before joining RMJ I worked for Mann Countrywide for seven years. I was the Branch administrator for various offices over the years but finished my employment at the Sidcup Branch.
Have you got any local connections to your branch/area?
I travel a little further than the others in the office but still only about 30 minutes away. I actually live quite close to the Robinson Jackson Eltham office, although I’ve always enjoyed working around the Medway area.
What attracted you to Estate Agency?
I originally worked with Dallas Haley at Mann Countrywide and moved over to join him in the Rainham Branch. We had worked together in various branches over the years and worked well together.
How have you been mentored or supported in your career?
I joined as an experienced Branch Administrator and worked for previously at estate agents, so apart from keeping up to date with the latest software, I’m pretty good at keeping the office running smoothly. In fact, I now really enjoy training other support staff. If I have any concerns, I know I can raise them at monthly 1:1 meetings with our manager and things are sorted pretty quickly.
What are your ambitions for the future?
I am very happy in my role. I like being a Senior Branch Administrator and have worked for the company for 15 years. As my Branch Manager observes; cut me down the middle and RMJ would be running through my veins. My personal ambition is to own a property abroad for holidays and to get a dog!
What do you like most about working at the Group?
I love the office atmosphere/banter. I have worked with some of my colleagues for many years, so think of them as our little family. I like looking after my little team. We also get to meet others from around the group at the Summer and Christmas functions. We’ve just had a ladies day at a great London hotel which involved a few drinks, and a few more perhaps for some!
Any advice for those considering a career in estate agency?
If you like working as a team player and meeting lots of different types of people then this is the job you should consider. There is progression within the sales team so you can work yourself up into a senior role.
