Claire O'Connor
Promoted to Senior Sales Negotiator at Chatham
What did you do before joining us? I had a very varied career before joining Robinson Michael & Jackson. I began my journey as a Beauty Therapist and did this for several years. I enjoyed being in a customer-facing role and helping people look and feel their best. I stayed in this role until having my first child. After this, my jobs needed to fit around my children and family, so I mainly worked in retail and school roles.
What attracted you to estate agency? Once my children were a little older and more self-sufficient I decided it was time for me to progress my career further. I was always attracted to the 'glitz and glam' of estate agency. The varied role really suits me with being both office based and out on the road. I am very sociable, so meeting new people really appeals to me; I enjoy getting to know each individual, finding out their home buying/selling requirements and getting them to their end destination.
What type of mentoring or support have you received during your time with us, and what advice has been a great help? Everyone in the office has been very supportive and is always willing to give advice and support. The training sessions we receive are also a great chance to learn new skills and bounce ideas off each other.
What are your ambitions for the future? I want to continue to beat the targets that are set on a monthly basis and I am keen to continue to progress within the branch.
What do you like most about working here? I like the variety that each day brings. No two days are the same.
Any advice to those considering a career in estate agency? The job is challenging but also very rewarding. You need to enjoy being part of a team and striving to always improve both individually and as a team!
WILDCARD - What did you want to be when you were 10 years old? I wanted to be a nurse. I always liked the idea of caring for those in need.
